Delete Task which in 'On Hold' status

How can we delete a Task we just created ( as in we didn't charge any transactions/ events) with 'Not Started' status and then put that task 'On Hold' status.?

When trying to delete, it is giving us this error "The Task has not been deleted. You cannot delete this task because progress has been collected for it".

Even we tried reverting the status back to 'Not Started' from 'On Hold', it is giving the same error.

Please share your inputs.
