apex listener JDBC settings

What's the best practice for the apex listener JDBC settings?

Our env: apex 4.1, oracle db 10.2g, OC4J and listener config. Noticed that the listener configure's JDBC default settings are: init Pool size: 3, Max connections: 10, etc. Looks to me it's lower, but don't know how bigger should go.

Anyone has any suggestions?
