BI Publisher Report : .xml file(Data Template) gives an error while trying to upload .

Hi there,

I am developing a new BI Publisher report for R12.1.3.

I downloaded XLAAARPT.xml and modifed it as per my needs.When trying to upload it ,in data defintion window am getting below error:

invalid at the top level of the document. error processing resource line 1

Steps followed:

Download the standard XLAAARPT .xml.

Open it in notepad.

Modify it as required.

Rename the notepad as .xml and upload it.

While uploading got an error.

Is the way I am modifying the standard XML correct ? Should notepad be used for this ?
