Approach for 11i to R12 upgrade.
We applied the prereqs, then patch 6678700, and now are applying our NLS patches. We have 3 non-English languages in this environment. So far the NLS patches have taken 48 hours and I estimate another 6 hours before it finishes. This brings the total upgrade downtime window to over 5 days, which is impossible to obtain from the client. To speed up the process, I believe the following approach would work technically and want to know if it is Oracle-supported functionally:
1) take a fresh clone of 11i PROD and upgrade it completely to R12PROD BEFORE the golive downtime window begins, and make sure it is scheduled such that this environment will be finished just before the golive starts,
