How do I execute a GUI application as another user...

I have our Linux environment setup where our users have to login as themselves and login to an XDMCP GUI Session.  If they wish to change users they can open up a terminal and do a sudo command to su.

Some of our less savvy developers wish to use a gui ftp client to transfer files but want to do it as the owner of the application they support.  When they su to the application owner, and then try to run the GUI application from it's command line they gen an error that states

"Client not authroized to connect to this displayError: Unable to initialize gtk, is DISPLAY set properly?"

Howdy, Stranger!
