Inventory Org Hierarchy

Hello

I want automate the opening of the purchasing periods so they open when I submit the concurrent request. From my research so far for this to work I need to create an Inventory Org hierarchy. Does anyone have any notes on how to do this or point me in the direction of where to find that information
