AME for PO Approval ...!!!!!

 Hi i am very new person to work on AME and i have heard alot from my various friends etc ... one of them telling me AME in case of Purchasing can only suppose to work for the Requisition Approval not for Purhcase order one is it true ???If i am trying t give the specific condition based on the specified attribute to the PO Approval so does this can be done by AME ??
kindly clear me these ..!!
