Any issue if we Activate GL Intercompany segment after go live

 We are in the middle of R12 upgrade. The intercompany setup is very different between 11i and R12. We need to set up in the R12 but don't have time for discussion and testing at this moment. We like to know if there is any issue if we change one of our future segments to become 'intercomany' segment after go live?  Thanks in advance for your help.
