Contract Terms Layout

 Hi All -
Can someone explain me the usage of Contract Terms Layout in Purchasing setup document types? We have a specific layout (stylesheet) for standard POs and CPAs, I am not sure when Contract Terms Layout stylesheet be used and for what purpose?

PO user guide says that Document Type Layout takes precedence over Contract Terms Layout, does it mean it will never be used in our case?
