Disaster Recovery

With Hurricane Sandy approaching, it is a good idea to review your Disaster Recovery strategy.
Oracle does not make specific backup or disaster recovery recommendations. You can contact/engage our Oracle Field consulting team for assistance.

The following are recommendations for what to consider when planning your Disaster Recovery strategy:

Deployment Server:

Whether your local database is SSE or OEE, you can follow the same steps:

  1. Detach (or export) the databases / tablespaces.
  2. Copy the database files (mdf and ldf for SSE, dbf and dmp for OEE) to a backup location.

To restore from backup in case of a crash or failure:
