Registration of RMAN backup takes time

Hi
  WE are facing on performance issue while registering RMAN backup piece in controlfile. Database size is more than 15TB . We have observed sometimes 3-4 hours while we are trying to register our backup before start the recovery on DR server

  I need help from all experts to resolve this issue
