How does tolerances work in Automatic Reconciliation for foreing currency

Hi
I'm working with Cash Management in an R12.1.1 instance. I'm having trouble reconciling automatically a bank statement in foreign currency.

I have entered a tolerance of $5 in the bank account control options for AP Payments for automatic reconciliation (and the same amount for manual reconciliation).

When trying to automatically reconcile a payment that is within the tolerance (ie: the difference is less than $5 measured in the bank accounts currency) the line does not reconcile and the report shows the following error: Line amount functional currency not within the tolerance range.

BUT, when reconciling manually no error appears and the line can be reconciled.

Howdy, Stranger!
