Completed miles/hours etc. field on PM Backlog (P12071)

How is Completed miles/hours etc. field on PM Backlog (P12071) updated? We have some records for an asset where it reflects current meter reading whereas some show meter reading in past & some are not populated at all.

We are on E9.0.
