Blanket order types

 I have a requirement to have quantities cancelled or changed on a purchase order flow back to the requisition from which the PO was generated.  I am thinking of adding the requisition order type to UDC 40/BT.  I've not done this before.  Does anyone have experience with treating requisitions like blankets?  Are there unintended consequences?
