Multiple Records / Lines in MTL_ONHAND_QUANTITIES_DETAIL for Same Item

Hi,

Product is R12.1.3.

We have the following ‘MTL_ONHAND%’ related tables.

 MTL_ONHAND_DISCREPANCIES, 

 MTL_ONHAND_LOCK_TEMP,

 MTL_ONHAND_QUANTITIES_BACKUP

 MTL_ONHAND_QUANTITIES_DETAIL,

 MTL_ONHAND_QUANTITIES_D_BKP,

 MTL_ONHAND_QUANTITY_TEMP

About the effect of Inventory (quantities) Receipts and Issue on ‘MTL_ONHAND_QUANTITIES_DETAIL, initially we had the following understanding:

1)When stock / quantity for an item is received first time, a new record is inserted in  ‘MTL_ONHAND_QUANTITIES_DETAIL”, with all  related  columns / links (Lot-Control, Locator-Control etc.). On any subsequent receipt for that item  (same Lot; Same Locator) the existing record is updated. For New LOT or LOCATOR, new record is inserted and so on …
