After applying patch 12769639 Password is now visible, can we apply 9981805 on a 11.5.10.2 instanec

Referring to metalink note "After Applying GUI Client Patch 12381566, Password Is Now Visible. [ID 1385593.1]", we have recently applied  patch 12769639 and now passwords are visible.

This note is recommending patch 9981805, but this is for r12 only, are we able to apply this to correct this issue ?

We are on 11.5.10.2, RUP20 WMS.
