OPM MRP - Safety Stock requirement date

 Dear All,

We are in the phase of OPM MRP implementation (11i). 

We are facing the problem with the Safety Stock requirement date recommended by MRP.

Let we explain the issue through an example.

 

Assume today date is 5-nov-12

Finished Product : FG

Safety Stock : 10

Demand : 100

Ingredient : ING

Safety Stock : 50

Demand : 200

Sales order date is: 31dec12

Lead time 2 days for both the ING and FG.

For FG, System output will be as follows:

The demand date will be 31 dec 12 and considering Lead time it is recommending planned production on 29 dec 12 of 110 (100 demand and 10 of safety stock). IT means the safety stock is recommended by the MRP  to be produced with first production of FG.
