Period end/average rates

In R12, we automatically update the daily rate table. 

1. If the period is defined/configured, can the period average rates be automatically calculated from the daily rates, rather than being manually calculated and entered?

If so, how?

2. can the period end rate be identifed as the daily rate for that period end date?

If so, how?
