Duplicates Member and Aliases

I am looking for advice relating to duplicate members and aliases.  After months of trying to avoid having to add suffixes or prefixes to members in order to make them unique, we wound up using suffixes.  We didn't want either, but we have duplicates in our GL across dimensions that we are unable to change.  We made all of the members unique by placing a prefix specific to each dimension on each member (for example:  A_Account 007).

Now we are having issues with duplicate aliases.  We did not add prefixes or suffixes to aliases. Instead, we concatenated the member (without prefix) with the description (Example:  Account007: James Bond)
