Sending Emails - Is it possible to redefine Email_Body to a CLOB ?

In a situation where many emails are sent out with size greater than 131,072 (LONG) characters, we are considering changing the type of EMAIL_BODY size from Long to Clob.

Any drawbacks foreseen for this change? or incompatibilities with standard functionality ?
