I was asked to unlink a recursive link withiin a filesystem back to the parent filesystem.  I did so and the entire (parent)  filesystem disappeared.   Does unlink  really DESTROY data?   The data is gone...but am still not sure what happened. Is the unlink command = rm -rf ?
                Thanks.
