Is there a way to connect to database on MS-SQL server from within E1?

We have a Database on an MS-SQL Server that we would like to access as a data source from inside E1.Using table conversion is too cumbersome, as we need to be able to run over dynamically changing data without having to convert the data every time.

Is there a way to connect to the database and have the tables of the database available for use in tools such as RDA or FDA?
