R12 AP Remittance Advice using xdodelivery.cfg - Email Override

We are on 12.1.3

Is there a recommended approach for the equivalent of an override email account with the R12 AP Remittance Advice on test environments (which uses xdodeleivery.cfg instead of workflow notification mailer)?  I have found enhancement request

But I am wondering what DBAs are doing today when cloning from Production?  Thanks!
