Need sum of all Sub-opportunity Revenue to automatically subtract from parent opportunity revenue.

A parent opportunity is created with a revenue of x$. We need to subtract a value equivalent to the sum of all child opportunity revenues from this parent revenue. Once all child values are entered then the parent value would equal $0. The reason for this is so that our forecast revenue does not contain double values for Parent plus sub-opportunities. How can we acheive this through automation?
