Multiple OMS's With Separate Agents

I have an unusual requirement.

I need to have two OMS's that have a firewall between them that share a repository. Can this be done? I will not be able to have a shared NFS mounted upload directory between them. They will of course be collecting data from totally different agents. Can this be done?

I forgot to mention the versions.

I can install either 11g or 12c. I am wondering if 12c will be better since the upload protocol has changed.
