Converting .dbf's to ASM

I have a new ASM instance. I began the process of converting my database files to ASM and ran out of space in my ASM data group. I have requested more space but how do I recover from this? Do I just run the process again 'Backup as copy Database .....', drop the ASM group and create anew, other. I never 'switch database to copy'.

Also I was curious to see that the process converted all 'allocated' space and not just 'used' space.

When you run process to reverse the process 'ASM to dbf' does the dbf have to be deleted first?

Howdy, Stranger!
