R12 GL Upgrade from 11.5.10.2 : Need to undertand the Pre-SLA Upgrade ?

Hi there,

As per the metalink note :R12.0 and R12.1: FAQ for the SLA Upgrade: SLA Pre-Upgrade, Post-Upgrade, and Hot Patch [ID 604893.1],

pre-SLA upgrade can be optionally run if more than past six months GL data is required to be copied into XLA tables.

1.Is it correct to say that normal upgrading process will copy GL(11i) data into XLA tables atleast for past six months without any manual intervention other than pacthing process?

   Meaning, no need to run any program manually by DBAs or Technicians.

2.If more than past six months data is required, from where should we run the Pre-Upgrade SLA program and at
