What is the encryption algorithm has been implemented for password file in 11.2.0.3

Hello Experts,
One of my customers read the oracle documentation and found that the Oracle database password file contents are encrypted, and the file cannot be read directly.
He is asking me to provide the encryption method used for password file encryption. As he needs to provide this info to his auditor.


I searched oracle documents only to find the same information and no other detail about the method used is mentioned anywhere.

Please point me to any documents which specify this more in detail and specially with the method/algorithm used for password file encryption.
