Why targets goes into pending state and unreachable

Hi,

We are using Oracle Enterprise Manager 11g with 11.2.0.3 database and the targets are loosing connection with the Enterprise Manager and stay in unreachable status for long time. Also The targets usually goes in the following 2 status: "Target has encountered metric evaluation errors" and "Target is temporarily in status pending state.". Can someone help why targets are going to pending or metric errors?
