Oracle VSS writer unstable

Anyone has experience of the stability of the Oracle VSS writer as it's been a beta version for quite a while, wondering when a production version is going to ship?

I've been using a 3rd party requester to do Oracle hotbackup for Oracle 11G R2 database running on Windows 2008 R2 64 bit virtualized machine for 3 months.

Been getting intermittent error message as below.  Even after recycling the Oracle VSS writer multiple times to a stable state, the hotbackup still fail intermittently. 

Oracle has been providing good support to-date but still troubleshooting and that's affecting my production backup.
