How Does Sub-Opportunity Layout Work After R20

After R20, the layout used in the  “New” page and  “Edit” page for Sub- Opportunity will be the same layout used by the Opportunity. Because of that, how would this work when there is dynamic layout/different ones for diffferent stages and roles. How will this affect calculations and required fields?
