update Solari9 using smpatch

Hi 
I want to update Solaris9, and I tried using smpatch.
However,  It was so very difficult.

# smpatch analyze
Realization integrity checks failed
MemoryPatchDBBuilder: Patch list version of null is malformed.

And, I couldn't find "sconadm" command on Solaris9.

The hope is to update with smpatch, if it is difficult,
installing 9_Recommended.zip is adequate for security?
