Do I need to partition my ASM disks for RedHat 6.3 using udev?

I've been building Oracle 11gR2 RAC systems using RHEL 5.8 and ASMLib. Oracle recommends creating one partition per disk and then creating the ASMLIB disks on the new partition.

I've just switched to using RHEL 6.3 and Oracle 11gR2 RAC, RHEL 6.3 doesn't support ASMLib so I'm using udev to configure the disks. I've created the udev rules for the disks, created one partition per disk, but the installer doesn't see the partitions; it only sees the whole disks.

In this scenario, is it still recommendsed to create one partition per disk or just use the whole disk?

Howdy, Stranger!
