RTE Severe error in log

The following messages are found in the e1root log of transaction server.  

[SEVERE][EVENTPROCESSOR]Setting null not found in JAS.INI
[SEVERE][EVENTPROCESSOR]Error getting Queue storage space. Setting null not found in JAS.INI com.peoplesoft.pt.e1.common.events.EventProcessingException: Setting null not found in JAS.INI

Does anyone know what causes these errors to occur?
