Employee Down load infromation - JDEdwards

Does anyone know if there is any way to download employee payroll information into some kind of file (ZFILE)  and then the process that take that information and load the payroll and address book information properly?  Right now our payroll department keys each new employee and we were thinking it would be better to just have the information in a file that could be loaded into JDE.
