Active Data Guard and Automatic Block Repair

I'm reading about the features of Active Data Guard that are not available in Data Guard.

I can understand the first feautre that database is open read-only and you can perform queries.

The othe 2 features are:

1) Fast Incremental Backups on physical standby.

2) Automatic Block Repair.

I could not find much information concerning these 2 features. Can someone explain to me in a little more detail what these features do?
