Service: Inventory Validation Organization

Hi,

Does the "Service: Inventory Validation Organization" control anything else other than the list of items the user can see in the "Create Service request" screen? Does it affect the item list the user can see in any other screen.

We donot associate the Service request with any item, ie., we donot fill item field on SR. But setting this profile, defaults the Inv org in the "Find SR" screen too which adds the trouble of clearing that field to search for any SR. We were planning to blank this profile and wanted to understand the impact of the same.
