How to pay invoice line wise?

Hi all,

Is there any way to pay incoice(s) line wise? Actually the requirement is to pay the item amount (mentioned in 1st line of invoice) only to the supplier then after some business communication the tax (mentioned in 2nd line) is needed to pay. We are using Payment Workbench that allows partial payment but not line wise. Please guide.
