Location (F41021) Lot Status holds

JDE used to allow a location to have a "default" lot status set so that any new item/lot record would assume the lot status when moved into the location. I have tested this is 9.0 apps and it does not work at all. Does anyone know what settings could be missing to use this functionality, or has Oracle "removed" support for this function?
