COMPATIBLE PARAMETER

I will be upgrading many 10.2 databases to 11.2.0.3 for a certain important and complicated app.  I've read many of the docs about how and when to change the compatible parameter, such as:
- The Oracle Database Upgrade Guide for 11gR2
- COMPATIBLE Initialization Parameter and Upgrade/Downgrade in 11g [ID 444709.1]
- How To Change The COMPATIBLE Parameter And What Is The Significance? [ID 733987.1]

The bottom-line comes from the Oracle Database Upgrade Guide for 11gR2:
- Oracle recommends increasing the COMPATIBLE parameter only after complete testing of the upgraded database has been performed.  After the upgrade is complete, you can increase the setting of the COMPATIBLE initialization parameter to the maximum level for the new Oracle Database 11g release. However, after you increase the COMPATIBLE parameter, the database cannot subsequently be downgraded.
