Upgrade from 7.8.2 to 8.2 fails with column adding on S_LOY_PROD_PT

We are running the upgrade wizard on Windows.  The upgrade is trying to execute an ALTER table to add column PROD_PT_UID to table S_LOY_PROD_PT.  The upgrade fails with ora-01430 column already exist.  We can open the target 7.8 db and see the column is NOT there.  Any ideas? Its RUN_SQL_80 Step 9 in the progression thru the wizard.
