Create a report based on Product Type

I created several new product types (using Content Management > Product) yet when I try to create a report that is based on those product types, I cannot find them.  I've gone through Product Code Detail (which we use in conjunction to our Opportunities) and have selected the Product Name (which are the products we entered) however when I select Product Type, Type and Sub Type as columns all three of those come up with only Unspecified in the fields.  I don't know where else to find these product types.  What am I doing wrong?  I don't even see the
