Team, Please can anyone confirm if there is an official statement from Oracle on running Oracle Databases on Hyper V environment? We have a customer who uses Windows 2008 R2 Hyper V environment for virtualization and have  RHEL  5.* and 6.* as the guest Operating systems on the hyper V farms.  Oracle Database 10 g R2( v 10.2.0.5) and Oracle 11g R2( v11.2.0.3) will need to be installed on the guest VM’s running RHEL 5.* and 6.* operating Systems.

The Oracle DB’s will need to be run as standalone instances with no high availability solution( No RAC, Linux clustering etc)

While there are some vague statements around this kind of virtualization not being supported, there seems to be no official statement around it. Also would appreciate if you can share details if any similar kind of environment is being run in any accounts supported by you.

Howdy, Stranger!
