Are there any advantages or disadvantages if Funding is performed at the Project vs. Top Task Level?

Hi,

Are there any advantages or disadvantages if Funding is performed at the Project vs. Top Task Level?   Is the functionality the same?  When you generate invoices and revenue at the top level, does it generate invoice and revenue amounts per task separately? or one total amount for the project?
