SOA Consumer composite not working

Dear Gurus,
We are trying to do a POC using SOA to read item creation information from PIM and generate an output file in the legacy system.

For this purpose, i thought of using the Business Event oracle.apps.ego.item.postItemCreate.

I am able to see an entry in AQ$WF_BPEL_QTAB once the business event is fired, but  unable to see an entry in WF_DEFERRED.

We have  a SOA Composite based on the above mentioned business event and it is not getting called.

Any inputs is highly apprecicated.
