Using API (CSI_ITEM_INSTANCE_PUB.CREATE_ITEM_INSTANCE) to create new IB records

Hi,

I have a SQL package that successfully creates new IB records.  The only critique from the business is that for these records, the serial number field is editable.

I reviewed prior posts on this topic as it relates to manual IB entry and it appears that this field does not become locked until after transactions have occured against the record.

However, is there anything that can be set and passed into the API to make this happen?
