ASSETS Depreciation

Hi

We are currently updating the EBS from 11.5 to r12.1.3. After setup of depreciation methods, asset categories and after loading assets what is the next step. run the depreciation for corp books and initial mass copy. Later do we need to run periodic mass copy, recalculate depreciation and match it to historic values or load all the accumulated depriciation for the assets through API ? If we need to do it from API how can I get that API?
