CHECKPOINT_CHANGE# / Datafile_Header while rman online backup

Hi every body,
I have some question about what Oracle do while rman online backup is executing related to header of datafiles

When the backup of database is complete the CHECKPOINT_CHANGE# in the datafile_header is not the same,
( v$datafile or v$datafile_header)
so what's the flow/process done by Oracle while rman is in action? Does Oracle freeze the Header until the backup is complete?

Thank in advance for any help to understand this process.
