backup database plus archivelog delete input

I have created a new backup process using RMAN.  Everything works with the statement ‘backup database plus archivelog delete input’.  All works well except that two of the databases showed an error saying that one of the archive log is missing and it terminated. 

Then I used, as suggested, ‘backup database plus archivelog skip inaccessible delete input’.   My question is, after few backup cycles, I changed it back to ‘backup database plus archivelog  delete input’ without the skip, and the error shows up again.  How can I tell the database to forget those old archives once for all?
