StorageTech To NetAPP

I'm currently running an Oracle 11 database with RAC on two Sun M4000.  I'm currenlty utilizing a StorageTech for my data.  I need to move off the StorageTech and use a NetAPP SAN.  I'm being told that the database will have to be completely rebuilt.  Can anyone provide an insight into why this would be the case?
